Phil Black (Nero Bloom)

A Theater Performance Major at Huntington University, Phil is originally from Ft. Wayne, Indiana, but spent his adolescent years in Russia. He has been seen on the HU stage as Harold Hill in The Music Man, Nick Bottom in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the attorney Raymond Berry in Radium Girls. This is his first project with the Huntington University Film Department.


Bethany Edlund (Veronica Saint Claire)

A Sophomore Theatre Performance Major at Huntington University, Bethany was last seen as Ethel Toffelmier in The Music Man, Gilmer in Godspell Summer Tour 2008 and Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She also had the opportunity to work with Tory Nelson earlier this year on the film “Save the Date”.


Randy Neuman (Oswald Finch)

A resident of Huntington, Randy has several years experience in community and university theatre. He has played Lou Cohn in “1940's Radio Hour,” Mr. Mushnik in “Little Shop of Horrors,” Selsdon Mowbray in “Noises Off”, Eddie in “Lost in Yonkers”, Si Benson in “My Favorite Year”, Argante in “Scapino”, Mr. Van Daan in “Diary of Anne Frank”, Mortimer Brewster in “Arsenic and Old Lace”, Bellamy in “The Fantasticks”, Matt Friedman in “Talley's Folly”, Charlie Brown in “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown”, Roy in “The Odd Couple”, Doc in “Leading Ladies” and Moriarty in “Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure.” He can be seen regularly on stage at the Pulse Opera House, in Warren, Indiana, where his additional activities include webmaster and Board President. He also serves as secretary for the Indiana Community Theatre League.


Dana Christy Minnick (Barbara Lomax)

With a background in music and acting, the former Miss Kentucky first runner-up and talent winner has entertained at Nashville hotspots such as “The Stage” and “Opryland Hotel” and has been the opening act for various artists including grammy award winning group, “Sugarland”. Dana currently performs with her pop/jazz trio and has recorded 2 cds. Dana studied acting at The Acting Studio of Chicago and has appeared in other short films. Please visit www.danachristy.com.


Steve Rodenberger (Charles Lomax)

Born and raised in Huntington, Steve resides with his wife Kathy. A U.S. Army veteran, he is also a veteran of the stage ( over 25 shows ) as well as television commercials. His memorable roles include “Freddie” in Noises Off, “Felix” in The Odd Couple, and the most meaningful was his role as “Otto Frank” in Diary of Anne Frank. Most recently he appeared as “Jack” in Leading Ladies at The Pulse with fellow Nero Bloom actors Mark Esch, Randy Neuman, and Darren Turney.


Mark Esch (Police Chief Douglas Silvestri)

Mark is originally from Dearborn, Michigan and resides in Huntington with his wife, Tina, and 4 children Lucas (an actor as well) Alexander, Catherine, and Andrew. Mark has performed in many theatres in N.E. Indiana, as well as Television Commercials, and Independent Film projects. Some of his stage roles have been “the Creature” in Frankenstein, “Scapino” in Scapino, Ken Gorman in “Rumours,” which he received a K.T. Award for best supporting actor, and most recently as “Leo” in Leading Ladies at the Pulse.


Jay Duffer (Daniel Merchant)

Currently the Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre at Huntington University, Jay is a native Texan that has lived and worked as a professional actor and director in New York City for several years. He has performed extensively in regional theatres across the country as well as in productions Off-Broadway, in variety shows in Las Vegas, and in productions overseas.


Glen Pearson (Max Cohen)

A sophomore Theater Performance Major from Naperville, Illinois, Glen Pearson is proud to make his film début with “Nero Bloom.” An accomplished stage actor, Glen has been seen at HU as Rodrigo in Little Women, Lee Bailey in Radium Girls, Charlie Cowell in Music Man, Dwayne Wilson in Harvey, and in his critically-acclaimed role as Silvestre in Scapin. Regarding his future career, Glen hopes to perform in professional theater in Chicago with further goals in feature films.
